Catarrhina is the daughter of the mayor of Coffinwell. She married Dr. Phlegming, who entered the town recently and helped contain the contagion. Her father disapproves of her husband but she is determined to show everyone he is a good person and her dream is for people to see what she sees.

Catarrhina is a kind and gentle person, able to see the good in people. She wanted her husband and her father to get along, though she died before she could see it happen. Even when she is dead, Catarrhina places others before her as she could not pass on while Phelegming is still anti-social.

After defeating the Ragin' Contagion in the Quarantomb, it is revealed that she died from the disease just before it was sealed away. Her last wish was for Dr. Phlegming to be a member of the community.
