An important thing to note is that Excalipurr is weak against ice attacks. Take advantage of this by casting Frost Fource and using the ability Crushed Ice (if you have a staff wielder).
When Excalipurr uses Feel the Burn, only attack him twice a turn to avoid raising his tension to 50. Like most later bosses, Excalipurr already has a very high attack rating. Work around this move by having your two most powerful attackers keep on inflicting damage while your other party members concentrate on healing, buff spells, debuff spells, and other helpful abilities. Alternately, if you have the option, cast Disruptive Wave to remove the effect. You can also use Rake 'n' Break to remove any special status effects he has on him at the time, if you have a Martial Artist with enough claw skill, as well as the sword skill morale masher to remove his tension.
