The Faerie flute (formerly Fairy Flute, PixyFlute) is a recussing item in the Dragon Quest series.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest[]
In Dragon Quest, the Faerie Flute can be used in battle to put an enemy to sleep, similarly to the Snooze spell. Most notably, it is essential in putting to sleep a Golem guarding Cantlin. Due to text restrictions in the Game Boy Color remake of Dragon Quest, It was renamed PixyFlute. (Or PxyFlut in the item list.)
The location of the flute is given in a clue by a man in Rimuldar, the item itself being hidden in the village of Kol, specifically 4 steps south from the bathhouse.
Dragon Quest III[]
In Dragon Quest III, the flute not only makes a reappearance, still able to put enemies to sleep, but also is key to freeing Rubiss from her imprisonment in the Tower of Rubiss. However, it can no longer be used to fight the Golem of Cantlin, since the guardian construct hasn't been built yet at this point in time.
