Biography[]

Dragon Quest X[]

The game begins with the player customizing the Hero and their younger brother and/or sister, followed by a brief tutorial segment that introduces the inhabitants of Tenton and the Hero's place in the close-nit community. This tranquil life comes to an abrupt and tragic end when a force of monsters led by Nelgel massacre the villagers in a full frontal assault. The Hero is able to save their sibling, but they themselves are quickly killed.

Awakening in a strange place known as the Room of Revival, the Hero is given a second chance at life by incarnating as one of the world's five civilized races: an OgreElfDwarfPoppet, or Wetling. Once restored to the land of the living in the territory of their new race, the Hero must adjust to their new body, reunite with their siblings, and avenge Tenton.

As a bizzare twist of fate, after many different adventures and clashes with the forces of darkness, which included the evil minions of the Great Demon King Maldragora, said dark ruler in the flesh, an ancient fallen Dragon god, and an aspiring time god of destruction, and discovering to be a direct member of the royal family of an ancient kingdom, the Hero themselves ended being crowned as the new Great Demon King, the supreme ruler of the Netherworld; using their newfound position, the Hero immediately began working towards ending the conflict of the Netherworld against Astoltia and mend the rift between the two lands, eventually succeeding in doing so after the final defeat of the evil Jagonuba.

However, a new threat against Astoltia appeared in the form of the Jia Kut Clan, the ancient intergalactic conquerors from which Jagonuba came from, forcing the Hero to form an uneasy alliance with the Angel race, which were suspicious of them, in order to repel the invasion. After many struggles, and the loss of many allies, they were successful, and the Jia Kut were wiped out for good. But, with their demise, the ancient Curse of Unmaking affecting the Jia Kut was transferred to the land of Astoltia, leading to the Hero's biological mother, Marone, to be unmade, forgotten by everyone as if having never existed with the exception for the Hero themselves. To find a way to restore her, as well as to save all of Astoltia from disappearing, they alongside some of their close allies, journered to the distant world of Zenias, the source of the Curse.

Trivia[]

  • With the potential to master multiple Vocations, learn to use different weapons, spells, fishing, synthetizing, as well as many different crafting professions, and so many more achievements, it would be easy to consider the Hero as a savant at everything; however, they also have been declared multiple times to be, at least by Dragon standards, an exceptionally awful fluteplayer, their music being only tolerable by an infant dragon who doesn't recognize bad music from good one.
