The Laundry pole is the most basic Staff available in Dragon Quest IX. They can be found at the Stornway Weapons Store for 40G, and they give a +5 attack boost. The Laundry Pole can also be obtained by creating a Martial Artist in Stornway through Patty's Party Planning system, and the Martial Artist will be equipped with the Laundry Pole automatically. They can be equipped by priests and martial artists. Combining a Laundry Pole and a Short bow in the Krak Pot will create a Longbow. The description says, "A? long bamboo pole 'borrowed' by a boring old clothes horse" this indicates it was stolen, it also indicates someone earned the accolade Clothes Horse.
