Rendarak (Formerly Plateau of Rhone, AKA Rondaryk in Dragon Quest of the Stars) is a general region in south central Torland. It is the final region visited in Dragon Quest II.

Geography[]

The plateau is only accessible via the Cave to Rendarak. The entire region is surrounded by impassable mountains. It is also the only region of Dragon Quest II to feature snow.

Overview[]

The plateau of Rendarak is home to the Hall of Hargon and the Shrine of Rendarak. These two locations are the final places visited in Dragon Quest II. As a result, the plateau is home to the strongest outerworld monsters in Dragon Quest II.

Dragon Quest Builders 2[]

After leaving the Cave of Rendarak, the army led by the Builder arrives in this land that is filled with flowers, clean water and greenery. The southwestern area has a puzzle where you have to match the slime statue on the left with the one on the right and you get a Mini medal.

On the center island there is a warp point and a shrine where a Hammerhood lives. He talks about how it's nice being here because it's nice to be living in an illusion. Anessa is confused as the hammerhood goes on about how the bar made of gold and the talking tree can't be real. It also mentions the illusion will fade away soon because nothing lasts forever. It mentions how the world they're in was created by Hargon to trick the Scions of Erdrick. The hammerhood directs them to the castle at the back of the valley. The army heads there at Gerome's urging.

They arrive at the castle with a Cyclops guarding it and Gerome is amazed by the sight of the castle. The eastern cliff has a puzzle with matching the garden on the right with the one on the left to get a mini medal. The party speaks with a Gigantes who warns them about seeking the truth while you can pick up parts for a big Killerpillar plushie.

As the army arrives at Midenhall Castle, they notice some townsfolk who seem to live happy lives ignorant of what's going on, worship Hargon as a benevolent entity and mistake the Builder for the Prince. When they enter the throne room, they find the king happy that the army is alive and wonders what they are there for when he vanishes. The bunny girls attending him vanish too along with everyone else in the castle. A Wrecktor comes in saying that it is thier fate to vanish along with everyone else here and that the day of destruction is coming.

Some Knight abhorrents and Vis magers appear as well and the army is ready to fight. The Wrecktor tells his disciple to stand by his side and Warwick joins them. Warwick explains how his goal was to fracture friendships, weaken the military and hope the Kazapple Cannon fell into the enemy's hands. Gerome is furious that Warwick was the spy but Warwick said he held true to the Children of Hargon's ideals the most. Warwick is turned into a Silvapithecus and goes on the attack with the other monsters. He's killed along with the other monsters while saying that everyone will die. Warwick admits that he realized this was all an illusion but his king wouldn't hear of it. Warwick mentions that he didn't want to die and made the deal with the Wrecktor to live. The army heads back to thier castle with the Orb of Heroes contemplating what they just learned.
