Verdham is a town that is accessible by walking by land from Engow, and by taking the bridge from Litorud.

Verdham is famous for its herb garden. Borlock is the current owner of the herb garden and is the richest man in town. He has many gardeners to tend it, including Pepe, who works for him as a servant. He lives in a servant's quarters next to the garden with his father and brother.

Borlock has a son, Iwan, who is soon to be married to Linda. Linda's father has accumulated debt to Borlock and so she works as a servant to Borlock. However, Iwan falls in love with Linda. Marrying Iwan would erase Linda's debt. And so, they are to be married. However, Linda is in love with Pepe, who spurns her advances. This makes Iwan jealous. To add to this love triangle, one of the maids, Kaya, is in love with Iwan. She is jealous of Linda and tries to convince Iwan that Linda is being unfaithful to him.

Sometime before the people turn to stone, Clayman and Joseph, former residents of Dialac, warn the populace of the Grey Rain.

Soon after, Verdham is struck by the Grey Rain, much like Dialac. This is caused by the Rainmaker. The Rainmaker turns everyone to stone. Pepe and Linda were outside before the rain struck. When Pepe realized that the rain was turning everyone into stone, he covered Linda with his body to protect her from the rain. However, they both turn to stone along with the rest of Verdham's residents.

The party enters Verdham to see its people turned to stone. They find the cause of the Grey Rain, the Rainmaker. After defeating the monster, the party uses the Angel Tear from the top of Borlock's house and restores the people back to normal. However, Pepe, due to his overexposure to the rain, doesn't recover right away. His body is still stiff and he doesn't respond to anything. Linda is horrified that Pepe, who previously had disregarded her feelings for him would try to protect her from the rain. Iwan is jealous that Linda is still spending more time with Pepe, even though he is ill.

The party travels to Engow in the past to talk to Pamela. After telling her Pepe's symptoms, she is able to concoct the Mila Drug to cure him. They return to Verdham with the medicine in hand. They feed it to Pepe who recovers from the effects of the Grey Rain. Everyone is excited about Pepe's recovery. To this end, Borlock holds a feast to celebrate Pepe's recovery and announce the engagement of Iwan and Linda. But Pepe is nowhere to be found. Borlock ask the party to look for him.

Kaya is seen trying to convince Pepe to elope with Linda so that she can have Iwan all to himself. However, Pepe tells her that if he leaves with Linda, his father and brother would suffer under Borlock. He leaves her after this conversation.

After witnessing the conversation with Pepe and Kaya, Borlock starts to make his announcements. However, rain begins to fall. Fearing that it is the Grey Rain, the people return to their homes.

Kaya tries to advance on Iwan and kisses him. Iwan refuses to kiss back. She then tells him that what they are doing now is what Linda and Pepe are doing as well. Iwan refuses to believe her and storms out.

Pepe and Linda have a conversation in the rain. Linda tries to convince Pepe to run away with her, but he refuses, not wanting to cause trouble for her or his family. Linda becomes angry and tells him that when she marries Iwan, she will work him to the bone. All Pepe says in response is that she should go back inside before she catches cold. She yells at him, telling him that she never wanted to see Pepe again.

Pepe decides to leave Verdham. When the party tries to convince him that Borlock is a fair man and that running away would be cowardly, he responds that this is all true and that he should have done this a long time ago. But he says that it is too late for him. He leaves without a word to anybody.

The next morning, the party relays this message to his father, who thanks the party for telling him. Linda, after learning about Pepe's departure, is depressed. Her tactics were actually geared towards making him elope with her. But they had the opposite effect. Iwan is upset that Linda still cares about Pepe even though he left her. Kaya is mad at Pepe for not taking Linda along with her. The party leaves Verdham with this resolution.

Iwan and Linda eventually marry and have a son, who Linda calls Eppe. Borlock dies and sometime before the 30 year gap, Iwan loses the mansion and the herb garden to Kasadol. He is reduced to a lowly worker. Kaya marries Kasadol and becomes lady of the house. Iwan becomes lazy and starts to frequent the bars. After drinking, he starts abusing Linda. Linda gets fed up with Iwan so she leaves him with their son and becomes a nun. Kaya, in the meanwhile, has been poisoning her husband via his food. He is withering to the point where he is bedridden.,

30 Years Later

The party cross the Litorud Bridge and head into Verdham. They notices that many things have changed since their last visit. Thirty years has passed.

They walk into the mansion and hear the maids are talking about throwing out the food that Kaya has made. Cherri, one of the maids, decides to give the food to her dog since it would be a waste to throw out food. As she feeds it to her dog, Kopan, it becomes sick. This is when the villagers realize that the dog was poison. It is given an antidote and it starts to recover. Cherri wonders how the dog became poison when she realizes that the only way that the dog could have been poison is if there was poison in Kaya's food. Cherri realizes that Kaya has been poisoning the food for her husband and sets out to confront Kaya.

Cherri confronts Kaya about the poison. Kaya pales when poison is mentioned but she becomes defensive and tells the maid to drop the subject or else she would be fired. Cherri doesn't stop, though. She decides to reveal Kaya's plan but she needs proof. She convinces the party to investigate Kaya to see if there is any proof to validate her claims.

The party sees Kaya leaving the mansion to see Iwan. On the way, she drops a purple vial. In it is an addictive poison that causes the body to become weak, wither, and then kill the victim. The party give it to Cherri who sends it to the herb specialist who confirms her suspicions. With the proof in hand, she goes to confront Kaya again. However, Kaya is preparing a meal for her husband, which is laced with poison.

She brings her suspicions to Kasadol's attention. He refuses to believe it until she shows him the vial which Kaya carried around with her. Kasadol recognizes it as the "medicine" Kaya brought with him. Kaya denies that it is poison but Kasadol tells her to drink the contents to prove that it isn't. It is at this moment that Iwan arrives. He tells Kasadol that Kaya poisoned him on his orders. Kasadol throws both of them out of Verdham.

In the present, Verdham is an open field. Due to the prosperity of Mentare, Verdham collapsed and becomes wilderness.
