In order to enter Burrowell, the heroes must possess the Golden Key to open the door which leads down to the city.
Burrowell holds many critical items from completing the game. The armor shop also sells the best equipment which can be purchased in Dragon Quest II.
The Jailers Key can be purchased in Burrowell at the item shop. Within the list of items for sale is a blank line where an item would normally appear. Selecting this line will trigger the shop keeper to sell the key. This is hinted by a townsperson within Burrowell.
The Floodgate key is also located in Burrowell. Using the Jailers Key to open a prison cell in one of the buildings. The heroes find a hidden passage way at the back of the cell. Within the passage way, the heroes find Rogue Fastfinger who gives them the key.
